History
History
Considered a lesser Forge World, Ohmn-Mat served as a resupply point for Expeditionary fleets pushing out towards the Eastern Fringe during the mid to late Great Crusade. As the expanding frontiers of the Imperium overtook the world, its efforts were redirected, with most of the planet’s industrial output feeding the stockpiles of the nearby fortress world of Stromhelm and the stellar infrastructure needs of local sub-sectors. By the time of the Horus Heresy, Ohmn-Mat was a victim of the Mechanicums capricious policies commited during the Great Crusade, being stripped of much of its industry by the Expeditionary Fleets Fleets that had passed by it.2
In 008.M31 during the Horus Heresy, the Forge World of Ohmn-Mat fell into civil war when its Tech-Priest rulers split between those loyal to the Emperor and those loyal to Horus. Eventually, Sons of Horus and Iron Hands forces took respective sides in the conflict, battling one another in a major escalation. In the end the Daemon Samus was summoned to the surface, forcing the worlds loyalist Tech-Priest to detonate a cache of forbidden weaponry to deny it to the forces of Horus. The planet was destroyed and its fires still rage 10,000 years later.12
