Towards the end of the siege of Helsreach, Invigilata's battle group engaged in a heated battle against ork [[Gargant|scrap-titans]] in the [[Rostorik Ironworks]]. ''Stormherald's'' final battle was against the massive ''[[Godbreaker]]''. During the battle, Carsomir took a risky shot by attempting to destroy ''Godbreaker'' with ''Stormherald's'' plasma annihilator, despite the gun's stabilisers having been damaged in the battle. Not only did the shot miss ''Godbreaker'', but the energy expended drained ''Stormherald's'' last reserves, leaving it easy prey for the ork machine to engage in close combat.{{Fn|1c}}
As ''Godbreaker'' and ''Stormherald'' were locked together, the orks boarded the Imperial Titan. Before they could breach the bridge, however, Carsomir had already been shot through the head by [[Lonn]], [[Moderatus|Moderati Secundus]] of ''Stormherald'', for condemning the Titan to an ignominious death. His last words were him repeating ''"I had the shot..."'' repeatedlyover and over.{{Fn|1c}}
