==History==
During the [[First Survey]], Belial was marked on the star charts of the [[Imperium]] as [[Forbidden World|Forbidden]] under the interdict of the [[Ecclesiarchy]]. It was rumoured in the Imperium to be haunted, covered in the ruins of a lost race, and steeped in ancient evil.{{Fn|2b}}
In 993.[[M37]], it was the site of a [[Battle of Belial IV|clash]] between the [[Dark Eldar]] and [[Emperor's Children]].{{Fn|4}}
During the [[Abyssal Crusade]], the [[Brothers of the Anvil]] were captured by [[Dark Eldar]] raiders on the surface of Belial IV.{{Fn|1}} Later in [[Abaddon the Despoiler]]'s [[Thirteenth Black Crusade]], the [[Word Bearers]] constructed the '''Black Cathedral''' there and began to worship the [[Chaos Gods]]. Their dedicated worship was able to stem the [[Warp Storm]]s surrounding [[Cadia]]; , which stabilized the existence of [[Daemon]]s that were summoned on nearby worlds.{{Fn|5}}. However, the [[Eldar]] later managed to scour the surface of Belial IV. While the Eldar are believed to have left, its part in the return of the [[Craftworld]] [[Altansar]] should be noted.{{Cite This}}
Shortly after the [[13th Black Crusade]], the [[Ynarri]] led an expedition to Belial IV to capture one of the [[Crone Sword]]s, battling Daemons along the way.{{Fn|6}}
