PAGENAME was an Imperium Mining World that lay near the edge of known space and would have been left barren if it did not have the largest natural promethium stocks in its sector.1
History
However, over the last few decades its promethium supply slowly dwindled, until a zealous Inquisitor came to investigate and discovered a hidden Genestealer Cult was behind the problem. The Cult had been using the stolen fuel to power their worldwide rebellion and with their discovery, they put their long held plans into action.1
The Mining World quickly fell to the Genestealer Cult and Inquisitor knew that despite a strong presence of the Imperium's military forces in the sector, they were not enough to reclaim PAGENAME; nor could he issue an Exterminatus, because the promethium stocks made the infested Mining World too valuable to destroy. Instead, the Inquisitor was forced to improvise and foolishly sought the aid of those groups that were normally the enemies of the Imperium. Soon Xenos and Heretic mercenaries of all kinds answered the Inquisitor's plea for aid and were given one goal: wipe out the Mining World's population, so that it could be re-populated and put to use once more. After the mercenaries were bribed with fame, glory and false promises of lucrative trade routes, they eagerly descended upon PAGENAME to start their task. However, the Inquisitor's strategy was flawed from the start, as controlling the numerous mercenary groups on the Mining World was all but impossible and it was not long before they became prey to the Genestealer Cult. The situation became hopeless however, when Hive Fleet Leviathan appeared in PAGENAME's orbit and began an invasion; making clear to all that the Mining World was now doomed. As the Tyranids of Leviathan made their presence known, the various mercenaries groups began a mad scramble to evacuate the Mining World, before they joined it in being devoured by the Hive Fleet. As for the Radical Inquisitor who had tried to save PAGENAME, his name was stricken from the Imperium's records for all time; though it is not known, what his final fate was.1
