'''Battle Group Faustus''' is a part of [[Indomitus Crusade Fleet Sextus]], and it is among the [[Imperial]] forces that are defending the [[Anchor World]] [[Sanctum]].{{Fn|11a}}

This was due to [[Lord Commander Solar]] [[Leontus]], deciding to make [[Sanctum]] his base of operations, during the course of the [[Fourth Tyrannic War]]. In order to ensure his safety, Faustus' was organized into a dozen task forces, which were then sent to scour Sanctum's [[Bastior Sub-sector]] of any foes that could threaten the Lord Commander. However, [[Groupmaster]] [[Tysen Yacobe]] ordered Faustus to reassemble in the [[Circeyl System]], after several task forces vanished after they entered Bastior's outer [[System]]s. It was as this was occurring, that the remnants of the lost '''Task Forces III''' and '''XI''''s warships appeared in the [[System]], warning that an unknown [[Leviathan]] tendril had invaded the Sub-sector. They had been significantly damaged and their surviving crews gave warning that a previously unknown tendril of [[Hive Fleet Leviathan]] had invaded the Bastior Sub-sector. As news spread, this new tendril was named [[Grendyllus]] and Lord Commander Solar Leontus soon realized the Imperium began making preparationsImperial forces in the Sub-sector, once were not enough to defend it began making its way towards .{{Fn|1a}}  The [[Lord Commander Solar]] would then send out a plea for aid, before ordering the [[Bastior Sub-sector]]'s [[Imperial]] forces to retreat from their current positions and reinforce either the [[Formidyre System|Formidyre]], [[Pyremoat System|Pyremoat]] or [[SanctumKastayl Systems]], which were named as '''Sanctuary Systems'''{{Fn|1a}}. What [[Groupmaster]] [[Tysen Yacobe|Yacobe]] was left of among those who refused to do so, though, and Battle Group Faustus continued to attack [[Hive Fleet Grendyllus]] from the [[Circeyl System]]. He would also use his warships to gather clearer intelligence on the [[Hive Fleet]]'s strengths and dispositions. However the Battle Group eventually began to suffer such heavy casualties, that Yacobe was then sent forced to aid relent in defending his efforts. Realizing that Faustus now risked being crippled by the [[Tyranids]], the Groupmaster finally ordered a retreat to the Sanctuary Systems. It would not do so as one group, though, as Yacobe split the Battle Group into separate fleets, so that each of the Systems could be reinforced by his remaining warships{{Fn|1b}}. Those under Yacobe's direct command were led to the Formidyre System, where Lord Commander Solar Leontus had made the important [[Anchor World]][[Sanctum]] his base of operations. Once there, the Groupmaster was given command of the warfleet defending Sanctum's northern hemisphere and he led it to battle, when Hive Fleet Grendyllus began advancing upon the Anchor World.{{Fn|11c}}
