The '''Heart of Chaos''' is a [[Chaos]] relic, that is located within the center centre of the [[Eye of Terror]].{{Fn|1}} 

in [[M42]], two of the [[Black Legion]]'s [[Chosen of Abaddon]] were sent to claim it for the [[Traitor Legion]], The [[Imperium]] became aware of this and the [[Officio Assassinorum]] was charged with ensuring the Heart did not fall into the Black Legion's hands. Its best [[Imperial Assassin]]s were then gathered for the mission, which was part of the Officio's targeted strike on all four of the [[Chosen of Abaddon]]'s members. Those going after the Heart of Darkness, though, had limited information to go on. The Officio did not even know what the Heart actually was, nor did they know the identifies or abilities of the Chosen that had been sent to find it. Regardless of which target they went after, however, the Assassins were not expected to survive their highly dangerous missions.{{Fn|1}}
