It created small images that were glimpses into the future, but the sheer amount of inscrutable future-derived data the [[cogitator]] repetitiously assembled, has recently caused the Rumour Engine to break down. The [[Imperium]] has now asked its attendees, known as the Many With Eyes, to split the processing of the Rumour Engine's auguries amongst themselves. They all have been given a routine [[data wafer]] to conduct this task and each is encoded with a possibility of what the future may hold.{{Fn|1}}
