Paragon is among those Imperial worlds where duelling is allowed under certain circumstances, the exact details of which are given in the Paragonian constitution. Duels are permitted between any two men of equal rank as long as the man who issues the challenge has a valid licence (which must be ratified by at least two members of recognised enforcement agencies); if the challenge is accepted then, regardless of the duel's outcome, neither participant will face any legal consequences.{{Fn|1h}}
