The keep was constructed during the [[Age of Strife]]when Damaetus was first colonised, converted from the remains of the ark that brought the original [[human]] colonists to Damaetusthat world.{{Fn|2}}
During the [[Age of Strife]], Damaetus was attacked numerous times by the [[xenos]] [[Mitu Conglomerate]]. Felweather Keep managed to stand resolute until the planet was relieved by the [[Dark Angels]] [[Space Marine Legion|Legion]] and was subsequently incorporated into the [[Imperium]]. The keep housed a number of subterranean vaults containing ancient data-stacks, which were of great interest to the [[Mechanicum]]; delegations from various [[Forge World]]s attempted to make a deal with House Vyronii, offering their patronage and support in exchange for the data.{{Fn|1}}
