PAGENAME is an ornate, curving blade. It is a revered relic that has seen countless centuries of service with the Deathwatch. However, it was used against the encroaching swarms of Hive Fleet Dagon, and plunged into the toxic flesh of a Venomthrope.1
After the battle, it was discovered that bio-acid blood of the Tyranid organism was eating into the blade, weakening its structure.1 All attempts to cleanse the Falchion and halt the corrosion failed, for the acid had penetrated at the molecular level. So the Chapter artificers constructed a sheath that keeps the blade in stasis as long as it remains inside and undrawn.1
