Replacing [[Falkus Kibre]] as commander of the [[Justaerin]] after his apparent death, by the final stages of the Siege Sycar was one of the more rational Sons of Horus commanders and was still skeptical of the powers of [[Chaos]]. Thus when [[Abaddon]] gathered the remaining Sons of Horus to make for the ''[[Vengeful Spirit]]'' after its [[Void Shield]]s were lowered, Sycar deferred to the First Captains authority unlike many.{{Fn|1}}
After arriving on the Vengeful Spirit alongside [[Abbadon]], Sycar explores explored the reality-warped interior of the vessel alongside the First Captain. Eventually discovering the broken [[Kinor Argonis]]{{Fn|2}}, Sycar and his compatriots eventually become embattled against maddened Word Bearer legionaries and Solar Auxilia. Though they perform performed well, it takes the intervention of [[Erebus]] to stop them being overwhelmed.{{Fn|3}}
