Thus when [[Abaddon]] gathered the remaining Sons of Horus to make for the ''[[Vengeful Spirit]]'' after its [[Void Shield]]s were lowered, Sycar deferred to the First Captains authority unlike many.{{Fn|1}}
After arriving on the Vengeful Spirit alongside [[Abbadon]], Sycar explored the reality-warped interior of the vessel alongside the First Captain. Eventually discovering the broken [[Kinor Argonis]]{{Fn|22a}}, Sycar and his compatriots eventually became embattled against maddened Word Bearer legionaries and Solar Auxilia. Though they performed well, it took the intervention of [[Erebus]] to stop them being overwhelmed.{{Fn|32b}}
