He served in the 55th [[Space Marine 55th Company(Imperial Fists Legion)|55th Company]]'s 62nd Squad, that was assigned to the ''[[Tribune (Warship)|Tribune]] '' when the [[Imperial Fists]] '''Retribution Fleet''' fought in the [[Battle of Phall]]. When at the height of battle, [[Space Marine Captain|Captain]] [[Polux]] ordered the seizing of the [[Iron Warriors]] vessel ''[[Contrador]]'', only the 55th Company's [[Breacher Squads Squad]]s took part in the countering operation. The rest remained on the doomed flagship to inflict maximum losses to the attacker. The 62nd squad teleported to the ''Contrador '' along with [[Alexis Polux]] and fought alongside the Captain. The [[Veteran Sergeant]] survived the Battle, although a report on this was only received and recorded by the [[Order of the Chroniclers]] many years later.{{Fn|1}} The [[Veteran Sergeant]] would later take part in the [[Battle for Terra]].{{Fn|2}}

On Ahmand's breacher shield you can see the sergeant's chevron, a red diamond in the center marking him a [[veteran]]. There is also numbering of the 62nd Squad. The symbol of double axes usually indicates a battle reward for the triumphant completion of the operation in the Mortalis zone, but was also often used at that time as a special sign of those who served with the famed [[Imperial Fists]] Seneschal [[Fafnir Rann]]. The red helmet shows that its owner is a [[Space Marine Sergeant|Sergeant]], and the white bar that he is a [[veteran]]. While the symbol on his forearm is used to mark the vanguard attack squads such as breachers.{{Fn|1}}
