== History ==In 008.M31, two years after the initial traitor victory in the [[First Battle of Paramar]], loyalist forces consisting of the [[Legio Atarus]], [[Legio Ignatum]], [[Legio Solaria]], [[Blood Angels]], [[White Scars]],{{Fn|1a}} [[House Vyronii]],{{Fn|1b}} and [[Imperial Army]] invaded Paramar V in an attempt to retake it.{{Fn|2}} They clash clashed with defending traitors consisting of the [[Legio Fureans]], [[Legio Mortis]], [[Sons of Horus]], and [[Word Bearers]].{{Fn|1a}} Over two years, the planet changed hands multiple times as both loyalists as well as traitors sent reinforcements.{{Fn|2}}

In 011.M31, the loyalists made a last gamble to finally win the battle.{{Fn|2}} They conducted a series of diversionary attacks across the Paramar [[Paramar System]] in order to draw the traitor forces away from their true target, before conducting a full-scale assault on [[Paramar V]]'s primary spaceport. The loyalists were able to capture it intact and then pressed outwards to begin the destruction of the mass-provender silos sprawling across the plateau beyond. However it was soon revealed that the traitors had seen through this plan and launched an enormous counter-attack.
