The Conqueror was first created on [[Gryphonne IV]] when its plans were discovered sometime in the [[M38|38th millennium]]. The plans were sent to [[Mars]] though other [[Forge Worlds]] are lobbying for access to them. Originally, battlefield commanders voiced concerns that the smaller cannon would reduce the available firepower and result in poor battlefield performance. This was shown not to be true in testing as the reduced recoil of the gun made up for its reduced power by improving its accuracy firing on the move. Also, the smaller shell size allowed loaders to fire faster and carry more ammunition than the standard Leman Russ Battle Tank.
The first batch of Conquerors was assigned to the Gryphonne IV [[Skitarii]] forces for the [[Castra Campaign]]. Along with the a battle group of the [[War GriffonGriffons]] [[Titans]], the Conqueror kept up easily with the titans and quickly encircled Hive Castra Septus, annihilating the traitors within.
After this, production stepped up and Conquerors were exported to [[Imperial Guard]] regiments where it has unofficially become known as a breakthrough or line-breaker tank, as that is what it excels at.
