Intercessors aimed towards close combat are known as '''Assault Intercessors'''.{{Fn|3}} These are among the most common type of [[Close Support Squad]] within a modern Chapter.{{Fn|7a}} They are equipped with [[Chainsword]]s and [[Heavy Bolt Pistol]]s, while the commanding [[Space Marine Sergeant|Sergeant]] is equipped with a [[Power Sword]], [[Power Fist]], or [[Thunder Hammer]] and a [[Plasma Pistol]] or [[Hand Flamer]]. With or without their [[jump pack]]s, they are the [[primaris]] equivalent of [[assault squad]]s.
