After rogue techpriests experimented with the remains of Inquisitor Drogan's power source, a warp rift was opened on the planet leading to a Chaos invasion. In response to this, Inquisitor Seibel of the Ordo Malleus, requested the deployment of the Ultramarines [[Sternguard Veteran]] squad to secure the power source. During their deployment, the drop pod is hit by enemy fire and crash lands, leaving Malum Caedo as the sole survivor. Guided by a servo skull, he ventures into battle against cultists, [[Chaos Space Marines]] and Daemons to recover the power source.{{Fn|2}}
