When Quintus was subjugated by an [[Alpha Legion]] warband led by the [[Daemon Prince]] [[Kernax Voldorius]], Morkis was amongst those in the Quintus PDF to surrender to the [[Chaos Space Marine|Traitor Marines]] and abandon the [[Imperium]] in favour of serving Voldorius. Unlike [[Orson|some]] [[Lannus|of his]] [[Elenritch|colleagues]], however, Morkis had willingly betrayed his world due to his sheer ambition.{{Fn|1a}}
Later, the 3rd Companies of the [[White Scars]] and [[Raven Guard]] arrived to [[Hunt for Voldorius|liberate Quintus]]. In the aftermath of the [[Space Marines]]' successful initial assault on [[Mankarra]], Morkis turned on his fellow militia officers, including [[Quartermaster General]] [[Ackenvol]], trying to deflect the blame for the incident. He shot a number of them with his [[laspistol]] before being stangled strangled to death by Lord [[Kline]]. Morkis's death-spasms, however, were sufficient to pull the trigger of his laspistol and kill Kline in turn.{{Fn|1c}}
