==History==
In late [[M41]], Mefridus led a [[Crusade]] that destroyed the crystalline [[Xenos]] species that dwelled in the [[Garon Nebula]]. He nearly met his end, during the Crusade's final battle, however, when the [[Castellan (Black Templars)|Castellan]] was attacked by a giant warrior of the species. The [[Initiate]] [[Rammius]] saved his life by slaying the Xenos though and in thanks, Mefridus made his savior saviour a [[Sword Brethren]]. Rammius would then serve in the Castellan's household for 70 years, before he asked to join the [[Ghoul Stars Crusade]]. This was led by the newly elected [[High Marshal (Black Templars)|High Marshal]] [[Helbrecht]], however, which would mean Rammius would leave the Castellan's service. Though he was saddened to see one of his most valued warriors go, Mefridus ultimately consented to Rammius' request.{{Fn|1}}
