It is said that beneath the gleaming masks of the Angels Sanguine is a will of iron, but the truth is somewhat darker. Their terrible secret is known only to a few souls outside the Chapter, but despite this they have a long and glorious history.{{Fn|2}} When they are seen without their masks, though, the Angels Sanguine are described as having unusually ruddy skin and coarse facial features.{{Fn|14}}
The Chapter's [[Librarius]] is nearly twice the size of those seen in other Blood Angels successor chapters, which has added to the mystery of the Chapter.{{Fn|17}}
