They are commanded by [[Flight Captain]]s{{Fn|1a}} and are described as big, tough, and ugly{{Fn|1b}}, with their sloping flanks being the height of a twelve-storey hab-block{{Fn|1a}}. The Slovos take a [[Forge World]] decades to build, and their crew number in the hundreds. Most however are bolted-down [[Servitor]]s, while the rest are from Forge Worlds or received their training on one. The conveyers are expected to last for centuries{{Fn|1b}} and on some Imperial worlds, Slovos operate in an endless cycle of receiving and delivering cargo.{{Fn|1a}} Slovos are also used by the [[Adeptus Mechanicus]], capable of transporting a dozen [[Skitarii_#Organization|maniples]] of [[skitarii]] if necessary.{{Fn|2}}
