Elite Scions who exclusively go into battle wearing [[Grav-Chute]]s are called '''Tempestus Aquilons''' and are armed primarily with [[Hot-Shot Lasgun]]s{{Fn|37}} as well as [[Melta Gun|Melta Carbine]]s and [[Plasma Gun|Plasma Carbine]]s.{{Fn|39}} They are drawn from [[Schola Progenium]] recruits that display self-sufficiency, intuition, raw aggression, free thought, and improvisation.{{Fn|37}}{{Fn|39}}
While all Tempestus Scions are trained in grav-chute insertion, Aquilons differ in that they are entirely designed around such operations.{{Fn|39}} Due to preferring to drop right into the middle of enemy lines, the Aquilons are required to have intense close-quarters training and can have specialists who are equipped with various short range weapons, like [[Melta Gun|melta carbine]]s and [[Plasma Gun|plasma carbine]]s.
