Eventually rising to commander of the [[27th Company (Night Lords)|27th Company]], Var Jahan was one of only three surviving [[Kyroptera]] Captains after the disastrous [[Dark Angels]] ambush during the [[Thramas Crusade]]. During the arguments over what should be done following Curze's wounding at the hands of [[Lion El'Jonson]], [[First Captain]] [[Jago Sevatarion]] and his [[Atramentar]] killed fellow Captains [[Malithos Kuln]] and [[Cel Herec]].
