Members of the Covenant adopt these personas so completely—changing their behavior and even their appearance—that many believe them to be psykers channeling the spirits of the dead. In reality, they are [[Psy-Gheist]]s, individuals deeply connected to the [[Psychoterica]], a realm that allows them to tap into the dormant consciousness of the [[Silent Ones]].
