The other [[Knight Worlds]] are [[Agarost]], [[Calmarin]], [[Eryx]], [[Talmanos]] and [[Zarel]] which along with Avalath, surround [[Tolkhan]]'s relative position within the [[Khaldun Sector]]. Originally though, Avalath was an [[Exodite World]], that had been colonized by the [[Asuryani]] [[Craftworld]] [[Riellen]] in the distant past, along with [[Kathlan]]. When [[Adeptus Mechanicus]] colonists first discovered the Khaldun Sector, they signed a peace treaty with Riellen so that they the colonists could focus on other threats, as the colonists they claimed the Sector for the Imperium. This treaty recognized the Craftworld's sovereignty over the two Exodite Worlds and the peace continued, even after the Imperium gained control of the Khaldun Sector. This lasted for several centuries, until Riellen was blamed for an attack the [[Drukhari]] committed on the [[Mining World]] [[Zembrie]].{{Fn|1}}
This brought an end to the peace treaty and the [[Imperium]] performed an [[Exterminatus]] against [[Kathlan]], while Avalath's population was slaughtered and then buried in city-sized mass graves. The [[Aeldari]] technology they contained was then sent to the [[Adeptus Mechanicus]] base on [[Ilnor]], to be studied. Avalath would be claimed by the Imperium and it became one of the [[Knight World]]s that served [[Tolkhan]]. However the Imperium was unaware, that the two Exodite Worlds had each asked Riellen for help before they were attacked. Though their pleas were received, the Craftworld did not act until one hundred and twenty years later, when Riellen suddenly invaded and began the [[War for the Khaldun Sector]]. Avalath then became one of the many worlds, that the Craftworld's forces invaded.{{Fn|1}}
