On the ice moon of [[Ixus IV]], the Bloodlords would be caught in a trap by [[Necron]]s. The warband thought they would be slaughtering an Imperial prison. They were surprised when they found the prison deserted of all life and instead filled with [[Necron Warrior]]s.{{Fn|2}}
During the ambush, the ''[[Bloodhammer]]'' was hit with torpedoes and just as the captain regained control of the ship the rage from the [[Lord of Skulls]] sent him into a fit of bloodlust. [[Navarch Ladon]] subsequently crashed the ship into the moon.{{Fn|2d}} This resulted in the [[Lord of Skulls]] being unleashed from within the ship's hold. It would go on to purge the [[Necron]]s but also massacre at least part of the [[Bloodlords]].{{Fn|2d}}
