'''The Lost and the Damned''' are not a single coherent force, but rather a diverse and infinite collection of warbands and hosts gathered by [[Abaddon the Despoiler]] to support his [[Black Crusades]] against the [[Imperium]]. The Marines corrupted by [[Horus]] in the depths of time are an elite faction of the [[Chaos|Chaos armies]], the vast and blighted majority is formed by these lesser servants of the thirsty Gods.
There are populated worlds in the [[Eye of Terror]], accursed places of unimaginable horror. The twisted and enslaved populations of these world form the bulk of The Lost and Damned hosts. Brigands, [[hereticsheretic]]s, [[cultistscultist]] s and [[Mutant|mutantsmutant]] s who have fled from Imperial space into the Eye of Terror can also be found marching beneath the banners of Chaos.
Occasionally entire companies, or even regiments of [[Imperial Guard]] turn to Chaos, and take with them their vehicles and armoury. These faithless traitors take with them the discipline and training of Guardsmen, forming a hardened and reliable core amongst the slavering hordes of the Lost and Damned.
