Most Tallarn regiments are made up of standard [[Astra Militarum Company|companies]] - generally infantry, armoured, or artillery companies. In addition, it is not uncommon for a regiment to contain a number of patrol companies (also termed as "long range companies" or "recon companies").{{Fn|6}}

The Tallarn use the title '''Duf'adar''' as opposed to "[[Sergeant (Imperial Guard)|Sergeant]]" as the origin of the word sergeant means "servant" and they claim to be no man's servant.{{Fn|2b}}
