Overview
Originally serving as a Sergeant in the Mordian 84th Regiment, she was a veteran of the Battle of Gathalamor during the Indomitus Crusade. Presumed dead during the battle, she miraculously reappeared and limped her way back into camp, having fought through Daemons in a pit of bones. The apparent miracle was documented by Fabian Guelphrain.1 Still serving in the Mordian 84th, she next takes part in the battle on Kamidar and again miraculously survives a confrontation with traitor forces.2
Kesh later reappears fighting on Barren in the war to secure the Anaxian Line from Chaos forces, now having a reputation in the 84th of being lucky.3a The Mordian 84th is later requisitioned by Inquisitor Rostov in the hunt for the Hand of Abaddon, and takes part in the assault on their Blackstone Fortress in the Battle of the Stygius Gilt.3b During the battle aboard the Blackstone Fortress, Rostov, the Mordians and the accompanying Sister of Silence Syreniel are confronted by a member of the Hand of Abaddon dubbed Scion of Plagues. In the desperate struggle that followed against the Plague Lord and his Nurgle followers, Kesh is about to be struck down but suddenly is overcome by the light of the Emperor. Transformed into a Living Saint, she emitted a wave of light that disintegrated the Scions of Plague and the rest of the Chaos horde.3c In the aftermath of the miracle, Kesh is held by Rostov and the Rogue Trader Katla Helvintr aboard the vessel Wyrmslayer Queen and is watched over by Syreniel, who declares the reluctant Guardsman as having been chosen by the Emperor.3d
