COGs serve as robotic assistants for [[Kin]] of the Leagues of Votann and are usually overseen by a [[Brôkhyr]] engineer. Their designs are based upon ancient schematics provided by Kin ancestors, but the Brôkhyr also provide their own individual ingenuity to their design.{{Fn|2e}} COGs are can perform relatively complex tasks, including applying first aid{{Fn|3c}} and operating spacecraft at a base level independently.{{Fn|3b}} However, they nonetheless are far less cognitively advanced than [[Ironkin]], which possess fully sentient sapient [[Artificial Intelligence]].{{Fn|3a}} When not needed, COGs are put into a dormant state by their overseers.{{Fn|3b}}
