The '''Ethereal Guard''', also known as '''Tau Honour Guards''' are [[Tau]] warriors who serve as the bodyguards and protectors of [[Ethereals]], the undisputed leaders of the [[Tau Empire]]. They also act as a secret police force within the Empire.{{Fn|3}}
Specifically bred and trained for their duties, Ethereal Guards are physically large and well-muscled for Tau. They are also fanatically loyal to their Ethereals even by the standards of the Tau.{{Fn|2}} These warriors are dressed in ritual garb but wear [[Recon Armour]] and wield [[Honour Blade]]s.{{Fn|1a}}
