In battle{{Fn|1}} ==Description==The Sons of Horus combat doctrine dictated aggressive close range engagements. This led to the development of the Castigatus combat shield. The original Castigatus was adapted from the [[Astartes]] [[Boarding Shield]], its defensive energies fitted with a compact energy generator.
