Originally known as the '''Annihilators''', the [[Chapter ]] finally succumbed to complete insanity during the anti-[[xenos]] genocidal [[Quietus Campaign]]. Those of the chapter still able to act rationally gathered at their [[Fortress-Monastery]] in the hope of finding absolution, but instead their corrupted [[Chaplain]]s led them into a ritual of [[Daemon]]ic possession. Every member of the Chapter was possessed over the course of a single night. Afterwards, they called themselves the Beasts of Annihilation.{{Fn|2}}
