Regarded as [[Alicia Dominica]]'s second-in-command, Saint Katherine is said to have been the bearer of Dominica's [[Praesidium Protectiva]], and was well known for her determination and avenging spirit, seen always at the brunt of any conflicts and leading many wars of faith against heretics and witches in the name of the [[The Emperor]]. As member of the [[Brides of the Emperor]], Saint Katherine was one of the six sisters who was brought before the [[Golden Throne]] at the climax of the [[Age of Apostasy]], and .{{Fn|3}} It is said that upon standing before the Golden Throne Katherine's own hair turned white - the detail which later became a characteristic feature of the entire order which she later founded.{{Fn|7}} She subsequently was present when [[Vandire]] was executed.{{Fn|3}}

Subsequently, she founded the Order of the Fiery Heart, named due to her fiery persona. She led her order in countless battles across the galaxy, and was declared a [[Living Saint]], becoming a legend in her own lifetime. Some time before her death, Katherine visited the world of [[Sanctus Lys]], and in a hidden crypt beneath a shrine interred the golden power [[armour of Saint Katherine]] and [[The Ardent Blade]].{{Fn|5b}} The Adepta Sororitas also retell many apocryphal tales about Katherine's deeds, though these have become much-changed over times and are often of dubious historicity.{{Fn|8d}}{{Fn|8e}} The achievements attributed to Saint Katherine include the recovery of the Nakemaran war banner on the [[Cemetery World]] [[Sukato]] after overcoming a [[Tyranid]] swarm;{{Fn|8a}} assisting in the redemption and martyrdom of Sister [[Mila]] at the scavenger worlds of [[Thelys]];{{Fn|8b}} defeating the [[Ork]] invasion of [[Tirzah Kai]];{{Fn|8c}} overthrowing the [[Chaos]] regime on [[Morugo]] by rallying the its still-uncorrupted people against the remaining [[Mutant]] population;{{Fn|8d}} and overcoming the [[Deacon|High Deacon]] of the [[Shrine World]] [[Elena (planet)|Elena]], exposing him as a powerful, mind-bending [[witch]].{{Fn|8e}}
