Various types of assassin are used by several races and armies to efficiently damage an enemy by removing one or several persons, in a covert waymore important individuals. They Assassins may be sent undercover to infiltrate an the enemy command centre in order to destroy important leaders and kill an officerofficers, destroy a special objectiveobjectives, or perform some other similar covert task that a conventional army would have to suffer many losses to achieve. Although considered underhanded, assassins can in many circumstances destroy a threat far more efficiently than entire armies can, which will often leave planets devastated. The [[High Lords of Terra]], rulers and administrators of the [[Imperium]], have a special division , the [[Officio Assassinorum]], (aka the Office of Assassins), to deal with such matters.
