The C'Tan shard can be released from the device using a complicated series of movements, cantrips, code in an alien language. Reversing this release protocol will immediately return the C'tan shard back into the device upon completing the sequence.{{Fn|1}}
This artefact was brought back to [[Stygies VIII]] by [[Magos]] [[Explorator]] [[Isonovere Holt]]. She had slaughtered the sensor technicians at the [[Immacoris Watch Station]] orbiting the [[dead world]] of [[Klybo]] in the [[Calixis Sector]] before obtaining the artefact from [[xenos]] ruins on the dead world. The explorator would eventually travel from the [[Calixis Sector]] back to her home [[Forge World]].{{Fn|1}}
