'''Lexmechanic''' is one of the lowest ranks of [[Tech Priest]] within the [[Adeptus Mechanicus]]. Their purpose is to compile and analyse data so that it can be entered into a central computer repository. They work with computer speed and accuracy, assembling battlefield reports, economic statistics, planetary reports, and so forth. Because of their role as excellent bureaucrats, they are often assigned to duties throughout the [[Adeptus Terra]] and [[Administratum]].{{Fn|1}}
It is common practice for lexmechanics to undergo the [[Rite of Clear Thought]], which enhances their renowned cognitive abilities. This nuerological neurological surgery also removes the rigours and distraction of emotions such as hunger, fear, joy, boredom and so forth.{{Fn|3}} Thus resulting in minds that are exponentially more focused and analytical, but personalities that are emotionless and dispassionate.{{Fn|4}}
