*When introduced as a playable faction for Warhammer 40,000, the Adeptus Custodes were said to be recruited from sons25d of the Terran nobility, forming a Brotherhood25d of men25e, in the 8th Edition Codex. The lore changed in this area with the introduction of a female custodian, Calladayce Taurovalia Kesh, in the 10th edition codex51a. Another female Custodian, Bayezara Aggonades, is mentioned in the same source.51d A third, Tyrith Shiva Kyrus, appeared in The Tithes episode 2 titled Harvest.53 **Note that Tyrith is visibly female, but no pronouns are ever applied to her, and she has no presented backstory. Neither Calladayce nor Bayezara have visual depictions, and neither has their very early life described, either. As a result, there is no lore conflict if all Custodes are made from male infants and some end up appearing female and/or using female pronouns.
