Despite their loyalty, some Ogryns develop a sense of self and desire for freedom in the fighting pits, leading to the formation of rebellious Slave Ogryn gangs. These gangs, led by powerful leaders, often engage in mass slave rebellions and become outlaws.{{Fn|1a}}

Ogryn gangs are known to inhabit the [[badzone]]s, with frequent sightings by explorers and settlements sometimes encountering them.
