It was first published in [[White Dwarf]] magazine in [[White Dwarf 330 (UK)|June]] and [[White Dwarf 331 (UK)|July]] of 2007{{Fn|1}}, and later published online as a pdf file.{{Fn|3}}
[[Games Workshop]] later released the combined contents of the articles as a .pdf file. It could be downloaded from the the [[Games Workshop]] website{{Fn|3}}, but numerous changes and updates to the website made the pdf unavailable to download anymore as of 2024.
Soon after the [[5th Edition]] of Warhammer 40,000 was released the Codex Blood Angels .pdf file was updated in coherence to 5th Edition rules.
