Before its deployment to the [[Indomitus Crusade]], the Precept was the command vessel of [[Battlefleet|Battlefleet Centaurus]] and underwent heavy modifications to its design. This included fitting more hangars than usual for its carrier type, so that the [[Battleship]] carried an impressive ten squadrons of [[Bomber]]s, [[Fighter]]s and [[Assault Boat]]s. Its ploughshare prow also had as much mass as a [[Light Cruiser]]. After it joined the Indomitus Crusade, the Precept was further modified by being equipped with large amounts of strategic and communications equipment, much of it newly designed by [[Magos Dominus|Archmagos Dominus]] [[Belisarius Cawl]]. The Battleship's prow now also bristled with augur arrays, which enhanced its capabilities as a command vessel. One draw back to the Precept's current design, though, was that it was lightly armed for a Battleship of its mass.{{Fn|1}}
During the [[Pariah Crusade]] at [[Paradyce II]], the {{PAGENAME}} was sacrificed by Fleetmaster VanLeskus in an unsuccessful bid to ram the [[Necron]] Pylon Ship.{{Fn|2}}
