In the aftermath of the [[Great Rift|Great Rift's]] creation, during the [[Thirteenth Black Crusade]], the Chapter's Homeworld was overrun by the forces of [[Chaos]], though the remnants of the Chapter managed to escape{{Fn|10}} before Sabatine was corrupted by the forces of [[Nurgle]].{{Fn|14c}} The Chapter then sought out a new world to claim as their own and rebuild.{{Fn|18}} Following the heroic actions of Captain [[Messinius]] during the [[Pariah Crusade]], [[Roboute Guilliman]] selected a new world to serve as the Consuls homeworldas several hundred [[Greyshield]]s were selected from the stocks of [[Belisarius Cawl]] to restock the Chapter with fresh warriors.{{Fn|24}}
