They are warrior-knights of valor and nobility, whose [[Chapter]]'s culture is heavily influenced by the tribes of their [[Adeptus Astartes Homeworld|Homeworld]] [[Samothar]]. These tribes worship the [[Emperor]] as a sun god and the Illuminators believe it is their duty to illuminate the darkness of the [[Halo Zone]], where Samothar resides. In that way, the Chapter ensures the [[Imperium]]'s foes have no shadows to hide in within that realm. This is also combined with the belief, that the Illuminators must carry the Imperium's light into the furthest reaches of the [[galaxy]] as well. As a result of doing so, the Chapter has managed to forge strong bonds with several prominent [[Rogue Trader House]]s.{{Fn|1}}
