Cyclopes are small vehicles, able to be carried in a Chimera or Valkyrie and operated through a remote control device consisting of a small handset connected to a backpack vox-caster.1a It is said that Chimera and Crassus armoured assault transporter can carry two Cyclopes within their hulls.2a Cyclops are commonly used to remove enemy strong points and bunkers but have found other uses on the battlefield, among these clearing obstacles such as minefields and tank traps or to destroy buildings during street-fighting, while the explosive charge is large enough to damage enemy vehicles. Storm Troopers have been known to use Cyclopes as sabotage weapons, landing them behind enemy lines with a single operator to target command posts, supply dumps or bridges. Cyclopes are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and few Guardsmen have the specialised training required to pilot them, but the fact that they reduce the number of dangerous jobs they have to do makes them popular among the infantry.1a
The Solar Auxilia used the Cyclops to breach heavy fortifications and destroy central important enemy positionpositions, especially when faced with a situation, in which a direct assault would have been too costly and dense terrain would have prevented an engagement from farther out. They were transported to the frontline by Dracosans or Arvus Lighters and, after being unloaded at a safe distance from the intended target, were guided and ultimately detonated by a sufficiently trained operator by usage of vox-control. These Cyclopses carried a variety of ammunition, from demolition charges to incineration charges and even powerful atomantic imploders, which were sometimes used against apex-xeno forms and similar enemies.4
