Ogryns, typically loyal and docile abhumans, are used extensively as [[slave ]] labor and servitors on Necromunda, particularly by [[House Goliath]]. Their immense strength and resistance to corruption make them ideal for harsh manufactorum work and brutal fighting pits.{{Fn|1a}}
Despite their loyalty, some ogryns develop a sense of self and desire for freedom in the fighting pits, leading to the formation of rebellious gangs. These gangs, led by powerful leaders, often engage in mass slave rebellions and become outlaws.{{Fn|1a}}
