The '''Death Leaper'''<sup>2</sup> is a strain of the [[Lictor]] genus found on [[Medusa V]]. Like the normal lictor it is found roving ahead of the [[Tyranid]] swarms but has the ability to camouflage itself in such a way it can become almost completely invisible.
[[Ultramarines]] [[sergeant]] Erasmus believes these Death Leapers are an evolutionary step for the Tyranids. It is feared that when the Tyranids are able to re-absorb the Death Leapers and reproduce them, the Tyranid vanguard will become virtually undetectable.
