==History==

Once considered a candidate for the [[Sanguinary Cult]], Ancaeus is devoted to his duty and holds his obligations to his [[Chapter]], his [[Battle Brother]]s, and the [[Imperium]] higher than any amount of personal glory. Ancaeus believes individual honor is secondary to the safety of the [[Space Marine Sergeant|Sergeant]]'s men and mission, and this brings him into conflict with his formerly close friend [[Space Marine Sergeant|Sergeant]] [[Kazarion]]. He was later serving with a fleet aboard the [[Sword of Baal]], when its ships were enveloped by the birth of the [[Great Rift]]. The giant [[Warp Storm]] damaged the [[Strike Cruiser]] and killed many of its crew, before only the Sword of Baal managed to escape back to [[Realspace]].{{Fn|1}}
