Fabius began development of these warriors in his position of [[Apothecary|Chief Apothecary]] of the [[Emperor's Children]] during the [[Horus Heresy]] when [[Horus]] gave him an improved [[gene-seed]] code stolen by the [[Alpha Legion]] from the [[Raven Guard]].
