Originally serving in the Night Lords 10th Company with the rest of what would become [[First Claw]], he eventually developed psychic abilities and fell to the corrupting influence of [[Chaos]]. He later joined [[Abaddon]]'s [[Black Legion]], becoming a prominent Sorcerer to the [[Warmaster]].{{Fn|1}}
Ruven reunited with First Claw shortly before the [[Thirteenth Black Crusade]], where after the [[Battle of Solace]] he orchestrated a plan alongside Abaddon to corrupt [[Talos Valcoran]] by having him tempted by the four [[Gods of Chaos]]. However the plan failed, and Talos swore revenge on Ruven after his minions nearly killed his slaves [[Septimus]] and [[Octavia]].{{Fn|1}} Banished from the Black Legion due to his failure, Ruven later reappeared captured by the [[Red Corsairs]] but was able to escape with First Claw aboard the ''[[Echo of Damnation]]''. However upon taking control of [[The Exalted]]'s warband, Talos followed up on his earlier vow to kill Ruven and struck him down with his [[Power Sword]].{{Fn|2}}
