Unlike many other knightly houses, Hawkshroud's Knights often bear campaign markings, army badges and other such emblems demonstrating loyalty to those they have sworn to aid. These serve as a sign of dedication to the cause of their allies, and also act to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between the Knights and those they fight alongside. After all, House Hawkshroud is proud to stand by those that have stood by them in the past.{{Fn|1b}}{{Fn|5b}}{{Fn|6}}
House Hawkshroud has only grudgingly accepted the influence of Imperial culture and technology for the minimum required to fulfil their sworn obligations. The house’s Nobles occupy severelyaustere fortresses, while what lore their [[Sacristan]]s learn from [[forge world]]s such as [[Graia]] arestrictly limited to benefitting Knights only. Such privations and harshexistences are preferable to the alternative of a life of extravagance, which they see as a road to weakness.{{Fn|13a}} After a Knight of House Hawkshroud was saved by [[Krom Dragongaze]], the House became oathsworn to the [[Space Wolves]].{{Fn|7}} Since the opening of the [[Great Rift]] however, they have been sorely tested and Krastellan has fallen within the [[Imperium Nihilus]]. They have however been aided by those they have fought for in the past, such as the [[Valiant Blades]], [[Blood Angels]], [[House Griffith]], [[House Zorahn]], and the [[Valhallan Ice Warriors]].{{Fn|13a}}
